We Have Re-Opened to the Public for All Services!

Effective May 18, 2020, the Clerk’s Office has re-opened to the public with certain safety measures put into place to maintain a safer environment.  Don’t forget that many services are available online!  Take a look around our website to see how you can save time and avoid a physical visit to our office!

Spring Hill Customer Service Center: 

  • The lobby will be open to walk-in customers from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.   The number of customers in the lobby will be limited and those customers present in the lobby are encouraged to practice social distancing.
  • Passport applications will be accepted by appointment only.  Please call (352) 540-6768 to make an appointment.  Customers are requested to have the passport application completed prior to their appointment.  Passport photo services will be available.  No appointment is necessary for a customer who wishes only to pick up a new passport application or passport renewal application.
  • A secured dropbox will be installed in the near future outside of the West entrance for payments and documents that need processing.  The dropbox will be checked twice a day.
  • Marriage License applications will continue to be processed.  No appointment is necessary. Applicants are required to begin the application process through the Marriage License Kiosk link on our website: http://10.1.200.235/marriage-licenses.  After entering your information, you will receive a transaction number.  Please bring this transaction number with you when you come to our office to complete the process.  Please review our Marriage License webpage to ensure you are familiar with the required steps before being issued a Marriage License.
  • We will resume conducting marriage ceremonies, by appointment only.  For couples who wish for their ceremony to be held in our chapel, attendance is limited to the couple and one additional person to take pictures if desired.  For ceremonies conducted outside, there is no limit to the number in attendance; however, social distancing practices are encouraged.
  • For recording of Official Records, individuals are encouraged to eRecord documents if possible (see below for website address) or use the dropbox (once it is available) as this limits everyone’s potential exposure.
  • For filing of Court documents, individuals are encouraged to file electronically through the ePortal (link on our website under Court Services) as this limits everyone’s potential exposure.
  • Payments on court cases will be accepted from walk-in customers; however, most payments can be made through our website or by phone and this method is highly encouraged.

Main Office – Courthouse (regular hours of operation from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.):

-Courts:

  • Civil/Family Law/Probate Divisions will be open for all services.  All walk-in customers are requested to sign in on the iPad outside of the glass doors and a clerk will come out to assist you.
  • Criminal/Traffic Division will accept walk-in customers for all services at a temporary station in the first floor lobby; however, payments can also be made through our website or by phone and this method is highly encouraged.
  • For filing of Court documents, individuals are encouraged to file electronically through the ePortal (link on our website under Court Services) as this limits everyone’s potential exposure.

-Official Records:

-Financial Services:

  • We encourage the continued use of US Mail and phone (352-540-6788)  for making Civil Restitution Lien Order and retiree insurance payments; however, the Financial Services Department will be open for walk-in customers if necessary.
  • Tourist Development Tax payments can be made online (link on our website under County Services) but walk-in customers will be assisted.
