Governor DeSantis announced on September 30, 2020, that he would allow the state moratorium on evictions to expire on October 1, 2020. The Governor’s office cited the federal order issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that freezes some evictions as an alternative way for tenants to obtain further relief from evictions. For that order to apply, tenants must submit a specific declaration form to their landlords indicating certain issues that affect them.
