JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. v. Meredith A. Metzler, Case No. 26001025CCAXMX (Hernando County Court, Civil Division)
On September 23, 2026, County Judge Barbara-Jo Bell granted the Defendant’s Motion to Determine Confidentiality of Court Records under Florida Rule of General Practice and Judicial Administration 2.420 in this civil debt-collection case.
The Court found that the Defendant’s residential street address must be kept confidential to comply with the public policy in Section 119.071(4)(d), Florida Statutes, and to prevent substantial injury to the Defendant. The Defendant’s personal cellular telephone number, wherever it appears in the court file, is also confidential. The Clerk of Court is directed to redact this information from the court records listed in Exhibit A to the Motion and from any other document in the case file where it appears, including the Summons, Complaint and exhibits, Return of Service, and filings by any party. Until the redaction is complete, this information remains confidential.
The Order is limited in scope. No record is sealed, no proceeding is closed, and the parties’ names remain public. The nature of the claims, the progress docket, and all other information in the court file also remain publicly accessible. Only the Court, the Clerk, and the parties may access the unredacted information.
This Order is published pursuant to Rule 2.420(e)(5). View full order below.
