Official Record Search

General Information

The Recording Clerk can provide information and copies relating to Official Records in Hernando County. A request for a search of the public records will require the proper fees (see below) and information that would help in finding the desired record. To Request a search and/or obtain copies of records contained in the Official Record Books of Hernando County please provide one or more the following:

YEAR - Specific year(s) to search the public records.
NAME SEARCH - Full name(s)
PROPERTY SEARCH - Legal description of property and/or property address. Note: A copy of a prior tax bill would contain the legal description).
DOCUMENT SEARCH - Deed, Mortgage, Judgment, Lien, etc.

We can accept requests over the phone, via fax or e-mail to customers who wish to charge their Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express). A non-refundable handling fee of $5.00, per transaction, is paid directly to the vendor via credit card. All other requests for a public/property records search must be in writing and the proper fees submitted. Submit all requests for a public records search to the address and room number below.
