The office of Don Barbee Jr., Hernando County Clerk of Circuit Court & Comptroller was awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2016. It is the 33rd consecutive year that the office has earned the achievement. It is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. "I am extremely proud that my office has been able to maintain the high standards required to earn this certificate," Barbee said. "It's important that taxpayers know how and where their money is being spent and that they feel comfortable with our service and transparency."
