The vendor use for our online case search and eportal for online filings is having internet connectivity issues at the moment, This intern has caused a statewide outage for their services.

Subscription Services are Now Available

The subscription services for Civil Clerk Data and Official Records are now available! These subscriptions offer additional site features that are very beneficial for our regular researchers. There are two subscribing options: a month-to-month plan and an annual plan.

The month-to-month plan requires a $50.00 one-time setup fee, which you only pay during the initial setup when creating an account, and a monthly fee of $10.00. The annual plan also has a $50.00 one-time setup fee and costs $100.00 per year.

Record Storage Facility Hours Changing

Students Design Official Clerk Seal

Students Design Official Clerk’s Seal!

The Clerk’s seal is one of the most recognized symbols in local government. It appears on tens of thousands of court documents and official records each year. In September, then Clerk-elect Don Barbee announced a contest to have students in Hernando County Schools assist in the design of the new official Clerk’s Seal for his administration. Mr. Barbee invited all of the students in 8th through 12th grade to participate and personally visited many of the classrooms to talk to the students about the role of the Clerk.

As of the October 26th deadline, there were 169 individual submissions from 6 different schools in Hernando County. After a vote by his staff and some technical work, the final seal was derived from the concepts of 3 different students. Don and his wife Loretta made a surprise visit to each of the classes of each of the winning students personally providing each of the winners with a $50 bill and cookies for the class. The winning students were:

Jamarius Waddy from Powell Middle School

Matthew Caldwell from Challenger K-8

Andrea Coffman from Springstead High School

Clerk Barbee wants to thank all of the students and teachers that participated in this fun contest.

A Fond Farewell

More than 100 people stopped by the Brooksville Women’s Club on the evening of December 28th to wish Clerk of Circuit Court Karen Nicolai all the best in her retirement.

Clerk Nicolai served the county for more than 36 years as Finance Director and Clerk of the Court. There were a few tears, lots of laughs, and many familiar faces in the historic building that night. Karen’s integrity and work ethic is second to none and she will surely be missed.

Enjoy your well earned retirement Madam Clerk!
