Employment Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in career opportunities with the Hernando County Clerk of Circuit Court. The Clerk of Circuit Court is a separate Constitutional Officer. The Clerk is committed to excellence in the workplace. We offer a wide range of benefits including comprehensive insurance coverage (health, dental, vision, life, long-term and short-term disability) as well as enrollment in the
Florida Retirement System (effective 7/1/11, employee must contribute 3% on pre-tax basis).

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications to be considered for employment. Due to the volume of applications received for most positions, only those individuals whose qualifications and experience best meet the needs of the Clerk’s Office will be invited for an interview.

ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS

A Hernando County Clerk of Circuit Court employment application is required in order to be considered for any Clerk’s Office position.

Create Your Application
Begin by clicking on the Job Applicant Center link and then selecting Clerk of Courts. Create your user name and password and click "Return to Welcome Screen."

Apply for Jobs
Find a job that matches your qualifications. Click “Fill Out Application” to apply right from the posting. If you do not have all the information to complete your application, you have the option to save and edit at a later time. DO NOT use the "back" browser button as it will cause you to exit the application. If you have already saved an on-line application, you can select Application With Loaded Content, make any changes or updates, then “submit” the application. If you have not yet completed an on-line application, you may create one on the spot. You will be asked several questions, and if required, you will need to attach your resume, cover letter or other documents in an electronic format. If you are claiming Veterans Preference in accordance with Chapter 295 of the Florida Statutes, you must complete the "Veteran's Preference" form. The form is provided in the "Related Links" box at the top of this page or from the Clerk Human Resources Department. If you have begun applying for a position and realize you are not ready to attach your documents, you can return later by utilizing the “Exit Application” option. You will have five (5) days to complete the application.

Veterans’ Preference
Veterans’ preference is given to eligible veterans and spouses of veterans in accordance with Chapter 295, Florida Statutes (FS). FS 295.101 has been repealed and eligibility in the State of Florida is now perpetual, and no longer a single entitlement. If you are claiming Veterans Preference in accordance with Chapter 295 of the Florida Statutes, you must complete the "Veteran's Preference" form. The form is provided in the "Related Links" box at the top of this page or from the Clerk Human Resources Department. In order to receive preference, eligibility documentation is requested at the time of application, but must be provided before an interview is scheduled. You may attach a scanned copy or call (352) 540-6216 to make arrangements for the provision of the required documentation.

The Hernando County Clerk’s Office is a drug-free workplace. The drug-free workplace program requires drug testing of applicants selected for employment as well as post-accident and reasonable suspicion testing.
